The Helen Webb Harris Scholarship

The Helen Webb Harris Scholarship honors the memory of Helen Webb Harris, the first President of the Wake-Robin Golf Club. The club is proud to sponsor scholarships for college bound minority female students who have participated in the First Tee or in their school teams and have distinguished themselves in all of their endeavors including golf, academics and community involvement.  Scholarships are awarded to assist in paying for tuition, books or living expenses for students working toward a degree.

Criteria:  

• Must have golfing skills

• Must live in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area

• Must be a minority female graduating high school senior

• Must have a “C+” or higher grade point average

• Must submit a photocopy of college letter of acceptance signed by the Director of Admissions

• Must submit a two-page, double-space essay beginning with “The game of golf will prepare me for the future.”

• Must submit one letter of recommendation

• Must adhere to application deadline of May 31^st
